Implement AS 9100 Rev D for Business Excellence: Quality Management System Requirements for Aviation, Space and Defence Organisations, includes ISO 9001:2015

ISO 9001 and AS 9100 standards have been revised and updated recently. This book indicates, explains clause by clause, all the changes and improvements made to both the Standards. The revised standard will be used by organisations and professionals to establish, implement, maintain, and continually improve the Quality Management System and to get the organisation audited and certified. While primarily developed for the aviation, space and defence industry, this standard can also be used in all other industry sectors where a Quality Management System with additional requirements beyond an ISO 9001 system is needed.

Chapter, Paragraph numbers in this book align with the Standard AS 9100 Rev D/EN 9100:2016 (www.sae.org) for easy reference. This book complements the earlier book published in 2012 “A Complete Guide to Implement Aerospace Standard AS 9100 (Including ISO 9001:2015, AS 9110 A & AS 9120A) Quality Management System Requirements for Aviation, Space and Defence Organisations, MRO Organisations and Distributors”. The earlier book (also available on Amazon) includes a comprehensive set of tools, templates, sample documents, procedures and formats for necessary records which continue to be relevant for the new Standard.

K T Thomas is an Aerospace Industry Experienced Auditor, Trainer and Consultant; Lead Auditor for AS 9100 certification in various businesses; and External Faculty at the HAL Management Academy. Over the past ten years, he has conducted more than 700 audits and 150 training programs in India and abroad for the aerospace industry, after serving the Indian govt certification organisation DRDO/DGAQA for nearly 30 years. He was the technical lead in several defect and accident investigations of aircraft/aero-engines, systems/components special study/audit teams of Indian Air Force and Ministry of Defence. His contributions to quality and safety of military aviation have been recognized by service awards. He has been a regular contributor to the IAF magazine, Flight Safety. He is also the author of ‘Safety Follows Where Quality Leads’ (2010) and 'A Complete Guide to Implement AS 9100 Rev C' (2012), which have sold over 1000 copies worldwide.
