Multiplication Games - 180 Days of Math, Art & Logic Fun: Do It Yourself Homeschooling
B1, B2, C1, C2, ideal for ages 8-17, (3rd-12th grade)
The book was created by a mother of children with dyslexia and memory problems - therefore the way this book is organized works very well for children with these challenges. The book may be too repetitive for some students because of the extra multiplication tables. Use the blank multiplication tables until the child can fill it out effortlessly, and then return to the book in the future to sharpen the skill. This is an excellent approach for students who are resistant to, or cannot memorize facts, with flash cards. Includes logic and problem solving, creative thinking, art, and other activities as well.
Uses a Dyslexia-friendly font to help with letter reversal and reading confusion.
“My daughter loves this book. She struggles with the traditional ways of memorizing math facts. These games made it all click for her. It is math without frustration and tears. She no longer thinks she is stupid because no matter what we tried it didn't make things stick in her memory. So thankful for these games.” ~Homeschooling mom of 2 creative girls
Dana B’s twins have thrived with this book:
“This books has helped my twins with multiplication more than anything else. They both have dyslexia and are very creative and artistic, but struggle greatly in recalling facts. While they haven't liked filling in the multiplication table every time, they can now see the benefit of doing it after 3 weeks. They have only done it 3 times per week, and it's getting cemented in their brains. In the beginning, I would fill in all the multiples of 3, for example, and they would fill in the rest. I also allowed them to use a multiplication table for reference. Now, one doesn't need to refer to it at all and the other is looking at it less as he fills out the table. The games and activities on the pages following each multiplication table are what they really like completing. We are definitely going to get some of the other Thinking Tree journals.”(July 8, 2015)ISBN-10: 1514895161ISBN-13: 978-1514895160 Thinking Tree Books

Provide the student with a sharp pencil, eraser, a set of sharp colored pencils and a smooth black pen. The student will be able to use logic intuitively to complete each mind game, art game or puzzle. Use one or more pages per day. Provide the student with a peaceful place to work and be available to encourage the student if needed.
Additional art games and activities are found on many pages to keep the creative area of the mind engaged in the mathematical process.
This book is based on Book 6 of Dyslexia Games Series C. It does have several extra pages with a multiplication table for the child to fill in. If you have a child who can not memorize using flash cards, they may need to fill out the table over and over. This book uses logic, art and repetition to teach the math facts.
