I ordered the book with lot of anticipation because it is a second edition and the title looked appealing.
248 Pages of book divided into a whopping 68 Chapters, and each chapter heading gets one entire page > 68 blank Pages - Talk about padding up a book. Each chapter is small 2-3 pages and broadly divided into following sections
SECTIONS:
The Truth About Employee Engagement
The Truth About Yourself
The Truth About Engaged Cultures
The Truth About Motivation
The Truth About Performance
The Truth About Creativity
The Truth About Communication
The Truth About Teams.
Each section is further subdivided into several shallow chapters.Never able to engage yourself like the The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People or Dont Sweat Small Stuff or my favorite, The Road Less Travelled.
I am randomly picking up a chapter so you get an Idea of what you can expect :
CHAPTER 22 : THE BAD WILL DO YOU GOOD.
""" You might not believe in divine retribution, but you have an employee who makes you wonder what you did in the past - or past life - to deserve the nightmare now. Whatever it was, must have been pretty bad """
IN BOLD : A small paragraph for each of this sub-sub-section
> Give Them a goat
> Give them all the latitudes they want, without special treatment
> Hear them out
> Ask them if they have any friends
Skip this book. Take a nap, play with your children or take the dog for a walk !
